On October 15, the Ukrainian delegation handed over a letter of application for participation in the selection of a candidate country for the Expo-2030 World Exhibition in Odessa to the Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Dimitri Kerkentzes in Paris.
The delegation included Roman Hryhoryshyn, Chairman of the Agency's Supervisory Board together with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko, Adviser to the Deputy Head of the Office of the President Borys Baum and co-founder and Managing Partner of D GROUP Vadym Dashut.
“We aim to make the most efficient use of the economic, infrastructural, tourist and cultural potential of the Odesa region, both domestically and internationally. One of the vectors for improving the economic, investment and social spheres is the Expo-2030 in Ukraine, in particular in Odessa, "Roman Hryhoryshyn stressed.
The agency together with D Group Expo-2030 initiated the project and joint efforts with the Odessa Regional State Administration, the Department of Investment, International Cooperation and Tourism of the Odessa Regional State Administration, the Odessa City Council with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine worked on the project concept and roadmap.
The Expo-2030 project in Odessa offers the theme “Renaissance. Technologies. Future". The period from May 1 to October 31, 2030 with the location in the area of the filtration fields. The revival is a new stage in the development of society, conscious consumption and waste-free production. It is about building sustainable infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, innovation and technology. About a comfortable life for the next generation. This theme focuses on the innovative and technological future of the world and is fully in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Applications for Expo 2030 have already been submitted by South Korea (Busan), Russia (Moscow) and Italy (Rome). Applications will be accepted until October 29, 2021, and the selection of finalists will take place in the summer of 2023. The decision on the venue of the World Exhibitions is made by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) by secret ballot (one country - one vote).

A registration fee of € 105,600 must be paid with the application. It should be noted that it is provided by the initiators of the project.

On October 6, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to submit an application to the International Bureau of Exhibitions for Ukraine's participation (Odessa) in the selection of a candidate country for the World Expo-2030.
